Our Policy
Membership Policy
1. ULAB TV recruits new members at the beginning of every semester. Any current student of ULAB from any department can join.
2. Interested students collect and submit forms, online or offline, with TK 100 as application fee and face an interview at a given date and time.
3. Selected candidates deposit TK 500 as membership fee when they join, and renew their membership in every January with TK 200.
4. Members earn points each semester through participating in learning sessions, production and administrative activities. Failure to earn minimum expected points leads to first warning and then termination of membership.
5. Punitive action is taken against unauthorized use of equipment & footage and irresponsible or unethical behavior, activity or publicity.
Editorial Policy
§ ULAB TV covers on- and off-campus events purely for learning purpose.
§ ULAB TV does not produce promotional video or documentation.
§ Any request to cover any departmental event has to be approved by HoD.
§ Any request for raw footage has to be approved by HoD.
§ ULAB TV does not cover any religious or politically sensitive or controversial issue.
§ ULAB TV does not approve any story if it has minimum possibility to violate copyright online.
§ ULAB TV does not use any of its production for commercial purpose.
Certificate Issuance Policy
To get a certificate from ULAB TV, outgoing members are requested to send an email to [email protected] with the following information:
1. His/her tenure with ULAB TV
2. If s/he held any position in the Executive Committee
3. FB/YouTube links of published works
The minimum productions that h/she should have for a certificate are as follows:
1. A campus report/ A desk report
2. A field report/ A video explainer/ A programme/ A live show
3. A digital story/ A photo story
4. A graphic card/ A motion graphic/ An infographic
5. A news/programme assist (camera work)
The instructor (admin) will verify the claim on production and will give a reply in the earliest convenient time. On the basis of his feedback, Brian Shoesmith Media Lab will issue a certificate. Best wishes.
